MARCH
31, 2004 -- LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN)--A cameo appearance by several
Electra cruisers wowed a crowed gathered at a runway show for
designer Nony Tochterman's Petro Zillia apparel line.
While some Hollywood celebrities like pop singer Paula Abdul
came to check out the latest clothes, many left wanting a cruiser
after Tochterman closed the show by riding down the runway on
a custom pink Electra June. She had also placed three cruisers
on display outside the runway.
The cruisers received so much attention that several attendees
asked Electra founders Jeano Erforth and Benno Baenziger for
their autographs. Several produces said they wanted to use the
bikes in upcoming projects and even Abdul asked how she could
get her hands on one.
Baenziger was impressed.
"We are constantly thinking about how we can make casual
cycling cool, and this is part of it. The response tonight was
amazing," he said after the show.
The event was part of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Los
Angeles, an affair that draws hundreds of top designers and
attracts media from around the world.
