Around 1010: Beaches

When the Electra team isn't in the office, there is a very high likelihood you can find us at the beach. Being in sunny San Diego, there is no excuse not to enjoy some Vitamin D, sand and water. It's just too easy to hop on a bike and cruise on over to one of our favorite (locals only) surf spots.

1. Swami's Beach

Swami's is just two blocks from Electra HQ. It's known for being an awesome surfing destination with it being a point break. It's adjacent to the San Elijo State Beach campgrounds, which are perfect for a Friday night bonfire to kickoff the weekend. There are a ton of great eateries within walking and biking distance, too. Bobby highly recommends riding a Cruiser Lux Fat Tire to the beach then taking a jog on the sand along the water. If you're up for it, head down to toward Cardiff and visit the kook...

2. Carlsbad State Beach

Carlsbad is the place to be if you can't decide whether you want to shop, eat or just lay in the sand for a couple hours. Chad says, "there's so much that I love about Carlsbad. The beach is just beautiful. I love the small town feel and the accessibility. It's awesome and super convenient. Everything is easy to get to." If you want to watch the breathtaking sunsets, take a stroll to the countless bluffs to take in the view. Chad's favorite beach activities are biking on the sand, people watching, camping and hosting BBQs with his friends.

3. Grandview Beach

Without a doubt, Grandview is Robin C.'s favorite beach in San Diego. Tucked into the sleepy neighborhood of Leucadia, Grandview is known for it's palm tree-lined staircase leading down to the beach, making it THE BEST for sunsets and generally awesome coastal vistas. If you're heading down during the day, be sure to check the tides first. The water levels rise right up to the bluff leaving little space for a lazy Saturday beach nap in the sun.
