Around 1010: Taco Shops

At Electra HQ, we are crazy for tacos. And that might be an understatement considering we even have a taco-themed ringer bell and valve caps. Soft shell, hard shell, fish, beef, cactus... you name it, we've probably tried it at one of our local taco shops. Here are some of our go-to stops for delicious Mexican cuisine.

1. The Taco Stand

The Taco Stand just opened down the street a few months ago, and their food has definitely captured our hearts and stomachs. All of the tortillas are made in house, and classic Colas are available in the fridge by the cash register. There is usually a line pouring outside the restaurant, but the wait is surely worth it. We haven't been disappointed with anything on the menu from tacos to burritos to corn on the cob. Yes, corn on the cob.

2. Fish 101

Located in the neighborhood of Leucadia, Fish 101 has the tastiest tacos on North Coast Hwy 101. Our favorite plates are the the Baja Fish Tacos and Grilled Shrimp Tacos. Aside from serving food, Fish 101 makes a noticeable effort to care for the environment. They use compostable take out containers and recycle their cooking oil and use it as biofuel.

3. Bull Taco

We go to Bull Taco so often that their logo inspired one of our new ringer bells. There are two locations within biking distance of Electra HQ, but we tend to head shouth to the San Elijo State Beach Campground for the real So Cal experience of eating and watching the waves. The menu is constantly changing with daily specials, so feel free to ask about what's new. The portions tend to be large, making it the perfect place to hang out with a friend (or fellow Electra team member).
