Around 1010: Pizza Shops

San Diego is known to be one of the top cities for beer around the globe and we don't take our craft brewers for granted... But what good is an ice cold pint without a delicious slice of pizza to accompany it? Lucky for us, we're surrounded by pizzerias that are just a quick bike ride away. From classic cheese to local favorites, it was hard to narrow down our top shops to four.

1. Pizza Port

Just a few miles south of Electra HQ, you'll find the best (in our opinion) Pizza Port location. They are known for their own delicious beer selection (also known as grog) as well as their specialty pizzas. With delightful and affordable lunch specials, like two slices and a drink or pizza by the slice, you'll find our team here pretty frequently. There's comfortable indoor seating with TVs and surf-inspried decor, but you can find us outside facing South Coast Highway 101 and the Solana Beach Train Station. If you are mesmerized by the menu and can't make up your mind, the staff certainly has recommendations for the best pizza to beer pairings.

2. Best Pizza & Brew

This pizza joint is fairly new to town, but they know what they are doing. Next door to VG's, this is a go-to for some grub before sneaking in that midday donut you told yourself you wouldn't have. They offer a wide variety of pizzas and beers on tap. The high table seating is perfect for large groups after a day at the beach that is just across the street. Our favorite items on the menu are the BBQ Chicken Pizza, BEST White Pizza, and you can't go wrong with the garlic knots.

3. URBN Pizza

We love a good coal fired pizza, and URBN has the best in town. The crust on the edges are light and puffy, but don't let it fool you. Under the toppings, cheese and sauce, the bread is thin and crunchy. Every pizza here is fantastic. Even the gluten-free crusts - just ask Tanja. For lunch, this pizza joint also serves stuffed calzones with a tangy marinara dipping sauce. The feel of the restaurant is rustic and industrial - great for beach weather. Lucky for us, URBN is just a few blocks north of our offices.

4. Pandora's Pizza

Pandora's Pizza is an awesome pizza spot that is more of a hideaway. It has a lounge upstairs complete with sofas, cushions and a TV. Downstairs, there is a more traditional dining feel, and outside there are comfortable couches with awnings for shade. This dog-friendly restaurant is a place for the whole family to relax and enjoy each others' company while munching on some savory pizza and maybe a fudgey ice cream sundae for dessert.

We've said it before and we'll say it again. We just love food over here at Electra. And it's no coincidence that we made sure to make a pizza bell and matching valve caps...
